Integris joins BC Children’s Hospital fundraising campaign
April 13, 2017
Prince George – Credit unions in BC are being asked to support a BC fundraising campaign to help sick children in the province and their families, and Integris is pleased to join this initiative.
Last year about 60 per cent of the province’s 42 credit unions took part in the campaign that raised $260,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital.
During the month of May, BC Children’s Hospital will look to the public to “Make May Matter’. The initiative will create a rallying cry that will serve as a reminder that in every corner of the province, fundraising efforts are taking place to advance excellence in healthcare for BC’s kids.
“Over the past six years, Integris has raised over $25,000 for the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation,” says Rita Harder, Chief Human Resources Officer with Integris Credit Union. “We want to give each child the best chance to reach their fullest potential at a healthy life and the BC Children’s Hospital is a world class medical facility in a great position to deliver that to all children in BC. This year, credit unions are hoping to raise $170,000 to support the purchase of an ocular ultrasound machine and two patient monitors for the BC Children’s Hospital,” continues Harder.
Make May Matter is the opportunity to support the urgent needs of BC’s only specialized pediatric hospital that serves more than 86,000 patients annually from every community in the province. In 2015 there were 1,323 children from North Central BC who received treatment.
Getting involved is easy and there is a ton of support available to help get an initiative off the ground and increase awareness. Here are just a few ideas:
- • Participate in Jeans Day on May 4 or offer multiple Jeans Days throughout May
- • Attend the BC Children’s BBQ Fundraiser at the Integris Professional Centre (5th & Central) on May 5th from 11-2
- • Purchase a Purdy’s fundraising chocolate bar at any of your Integris branches
- • Purchase a Vancouver Canucks Jersey Raffle Ticket at any branch
- • Use the hashtag #makemaymatter on May 17
- • Make a donation at any Integris branch
