Alex Castley was born and raised in Prince George and proudly represented Integris, the region and Canada when he competed in and won the 2014 CUES® Next Top Credit Union Executive contest this past week.
It started as a video submission to CUES®, a “Madison, Wisconsin-based, independent, not-for-profit, international membership association for credit union executives” with a mission to “educate and develop credit union CEOs, directors and future leaders.” Castley, 30, did not expect to win, but once the judges, audience and online voters saw his charismatic presentation, it was clear that he was the best choice.
In September 2014, Castley submitted details of the Integris methods for attracting a younger demographic to the credit union – having fun, while getting it done.
Castley was selected as a Top 5 finalist, winning a $6,000 prize package, and the chance to compete for the $20,000 CUES® grand prize in Amelia Island, Florida. While in Florida, Castley competed against four other top credit union candidates for the CUES® Grand Prize consisting of an educational package valued at $20,000, and the honor of being named the 2014 CUES Top Credit Union Executive. Winning was a tough feat as there was a five-part scoring process that included audience and online voting, social media engagement and two separate judging panels.
“I have to thank my incredible organization – Integris Credit Union – for providing the freedom to live the Integris brand to the fullest extent imaginable” says Alex Castley, Integris Engagement & Communications Manager. “I must also thank everyone who voted online and through social media channels – your support has been overwhelming! I am so proud to be a part of an organization that puts people first while enriching members, staff and communities. I share and dedicate this win with 25,000 Integris members, including our 200 staff, all of whom walk the talk of making North Central BC a stronger, more vibrant region!” concludes Castley.
We welcome home Castley from this journey and look forward to his future with Integris.
