PRINCE GEORGE, BC– The Prince George Cougars, in partnership with Integris, are excited to announce a new twist on our very popular Mega 50/50 Jackpot.

On Friday, January 19th, when the Cougars play the Lethbridge Hurricanes, it’s a revamped Mega 50/50 Jackpot. Integris in partnership with the Cougars 50/50 Society, will be purchasing $20,000 worth of 50/50 tickets, and starting at noon on January 19th, we’ll be giving a FREE $10 strip of 50/50 tickets to the first 2,000 fans (19+).

For the first time ever, 18 local non-profit agencies will benefit from the Integris Mega 50/50 Jackpot, thus a larger jackpot makes a larger impact in our community.

“We are very excited about the possibilities presented by this Cougars 50/50 Mega Jackpot,” says Alison Hoskins, Interim CEO at Integris. “This is a unique opportunity to leverage Integris community investment dollars with our generous, ‘all in’ PG friends and neighbours. Our goal is to start 2018 in the best way possible for the 18 organizations that will benefit from this fundraising opportunity. The impact of these organizations on the PG community is incredible so we hope the public will help us to set a new Cougars Jackpot record by buying 50/50 tickets and joining us at the game on January 19th! We are delighted to know that all funds raised will stay here in PG benefitting everyone who calls this place home,” says Hoskins.

The eighteen non-profit organizations include:

  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of PG
  • Canadian Cancer Society – Cops Tour de North
  • Frozen Warriors Program
  • PG Folkfest Society (Coldsnap)
  • Two Rivers Gallery
  • YMCA of Northern BC
  • Caledonia Nordics (Otway)
  • Elder Citizens Recreation Association
  • The Exploration Place
  • Prince George Native Friendship Centre
  • PG Search & Rescue
  • Association Advocating for Women & Community (AWAC)
  • Hart Ski Hill (Youth Programming)
  • Phoenix Transition Society
  • Connaught Youth Centre
  • PG Humane Society
  • Spruce City Wildlife Association

“The Cougars are committed to being more than just a hockey team, but also an important part of the fabric of what makes Prince George a great place to live. Along with countless community appearances and donations, through our 50/50 Society, the Cougars have donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to local charities over the past three and a half years,” commented Cougars Vice President of Business, Andy Beesley.

“On behalf of our entire organization, the Cougars want to thank the wonderful people at Integris for not only providing a huge amount of money to start off our Mega Jackpot, but for being such a high quality and community minded business that we are proud to call our partner.”

Doors open at 12 pm on January 19th, and additional 50/50 tickets can be purchased throughout the day, right up to the end of the second intermission. Fans must have a game ticket to purchase 50/50 tickets.
