2023 Dividend Rates
What we do with your money matters. Here, we support our members and communities through member dividends and community investment. At the November Board Meeting, the Directors approved the 2023 Dividend Rates. We are pleased to announce that a dividend rate of 2.50% has been approved for Class “A” Membership Equity Shares and a dividend rate of 4.00% for Class “C” Voluntary Equity Shares. These rates reflect the current economic circumstances and profitability and are set to reward members for their loyalty and investment by exceeding the yields on term deposits.
How are dividend rates determined?
Dividend rates are impacted by a number of factors that include our profitability levels, but also consider the context of the interest rate environment and the features and benefits of the shares themselves. The Class “A” dividend rate is generally set based on the higher of an average 1-year industry term deposit rate and the Government of Canada 1-year bond yield. The Class “C” shares dividend rate is generally set based on the 5-year average industry term deposit rate and/or the Government of Canada 5-year bond rate plus 1%.
