Integris is pleased to announce that $714,239.47 went back to our communities and members in 2015!
Integris is committed to enriching community and every year we give back in the form of partnerships, sponsorships, donations and member dividends.
Part of being a cooperative is that we are a member owned organization. We are pleased that of the $714K that went back to our communities in 2015, $433,148.96 went to members in the form of dividends from Integris Class A and Class C Shares; these Shares allow Integris to maintain a healthy level of capital.
“Integris retains capital as a risk mitigation to protect our members and our organization. Capital is a little like the equity in your house – a reserve you can rely on in times of need. The Class C shares have redemption restrictions so that we can maintain a healthy level of capital, but in return members receive higher than typical deposit rates on their share investments,” says Alison Hoskins, Vice President of Finance for Integris.
Besides member dividends, $281,090.51 went back to communities supporting causes from a wide range of categories.
Art pertains to: sponsorships or donations to art programs, galleries, music programs or festivals.
Cultural pertains to: Heritage.
Community: enrichment programs, beautification projects, community foundations, programs designed to help the less fortunate in the community and programs whose fundraising goes to carious programs within the community.
Education: Scholarships, bursaries, Science Fairs, specialty courses, adult education.
Environmental: Green Days, recycling programs.
Health: Fundraising for health related research including hospitals and machinery for diagnosis and support for people who are battling with health issues.
Seniors: programs for seniors and accessibility.
Sports: Athletic programs, team sponsorships, tournament sponsorships.
Youth: programs for children, camps, youth programs such as scouts, guides, cadets, BBBS and programs that promote citizenship, confidence and growth for young people.
