Integris Celebrates New Branch in Fraser Lake Community

Fraser Lake, BC [Dakelh Territory] – Integris is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of a new branch located in Fraser Lake, BC on March 4, 2020. Members of the community are invited to join CEO Alison Hoskins, Board Member Noella Herod (Vice-Chair), and staff between 11am – 1pm as we officially declare the branch open.
In early 2019, the community of Fraser Lake expressed concern over losing their only financial institution – members of the public, government officials, and the Village’s Mayor and Council called on Integris to consider providing financial services to the community.
As a financial cooperative whose mission is to provide innovative solutions to our communities and recognizing Fraser Lake is very much considered a community our credit union has a vested interest in, Integris answered the call-to-action to evaluate the potential to establish operations in the region.
“As the CEO, with roots in this region, it is with strong pride that Integris is able to service the community of Fraser Lake. The proximity of our full service branch in Vanderhoof was an integral part of the business model. Our two day operation will provide needed banking services by staff that provide financial expertise with a full time commitment. It is Integris’ privilege to be part of the fabric of Fraser Lake and we look forward to meeting all the residents of this beautiful community” Alison Hoskins.
In the summer of 2019, Integris staff and management presented a business case to the Integris Board of Directors which included a recommendation to provide services to Fraser Lake.
“After looking at the business case prepared by staff, the board voted in favor of supporting the recommendation, subject to a number of conditions that we were able to meet” said Cheryl Wallace, Chair, Integris Board of Directors.
On October 23, 2019, at Autumn Services in Fraser Lake, Integris Credit Union announced the expansion of operations in Dakelh territory by opening a new branch in Fraser Lake. The decision follows consultations with the Village of Fraser Lake, Stellat’en and Nadleh First Nations, area residents and other regional stakeholders.
On February 26th, the Fraser Lake Branch opened for a soft launch, offering Banking, Deposit, and Lending services. The new location will celebrate its Grand Opening on March 4th, 2020.
